Released

If it is with utter shock, then don't be surprised that the Red Sox have decided to let potential Hall of Famer John Smoltz go. Red Sox GM Theo Epstein personally flew to New York to break the news to him. I would call it a career. The A's also decided to part ways with Jason Giambi. Being on the DL and having the lowest batting average (.198) in the majors didn't help. However, he still might be able to help a club in the middle of a pennant race. But, it won't be the Yankees. Mets Continue to Slide

The Mets were to be the team this year, but it is not going as planned. What the Mets need to do is start fresh with a new GM and manager. Bobby Valentine, I heard, is available. Until then, see ya at the park! Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
